Happy Tuesday!
I hope you all had a marvelous 3-day weekend. I pretty much vegged on the couch, trying to shake my spring cold, and finish the last chapters of Ethan(Sand & Fog #4). But I didn't get much done. It's hard to write while you're sick, so I spent more time binge watching that series SIX. I was in the mood for a military drama and it's a pretty good one. And when I finished that off--since House of Cards returns today--I downloaded a free book offering by the Amazing Anne Mercier!

We're doing an Anthology together, scheduled to release early November, and I like to read the work of the authors I'm doing projects with.

What I've learned is writing is a  journey we make alone and that the motto I started with Write what you love, write it how you love it, and forget everything else was a darn good one.

​That's pretty much my subtotal of advice to give. There are authors out there with videos about how to launch, how to sell, what to write, what not to write, and some of it is great advice, but it doesn't really apply to the journey I'm making.

​I set out to create a fictional universe and family, to weave what I've learned about life, the human experiences women share,  into the stories of my characters, with storylines crossing over and Point of View changing as a reminder that what we see and know depends on who we are and where we're standing.

​After 3 years, I'm nearly 30 books in. There are readers who love the Parker Universe and readers who hate what I write, but I can only do what I uniquely do the way I know how to. I've been told my books are wonderful and I've been told my books are crap, but the best I can do in any moment is write the best I can.

I never thought I'd make it as far as I have.  Not when I started. I feel blessed to still be an Indie Author.  Even with all the bumps, my first peer read of The Girl on the Half Shell telling me it was awful and I should shit-can the book cuz it wouldn't sell, the long hours alone writing my fictional family and universe, it's been an amazing journey. It's enriched my life with wonderful people and a sense there's still for me something I love to work toward. I'm grateful to everyone who's been so kind to this shy beach girl from California. As scary as it was to hit release the first time I am as excited to soon be hitting release for the 30th time.  And am so looking forward to finishing my Parker Universe.

Three years. I'm still here and hopeful for a lot more years.
