Then I started the edit process for The Signature and started to worry that maybe Maury wasn't healthy for Emma. So, I channel surfed, trying to learn what all these 500 stations we have are, and I found 2 dedicated to dogs: Dog Blogging and Dog TV. The Dog Blogging was a no from the start. Like, how does a dog blog or is it humans blogging about their dogs and why would a dog want to watch that? But Dog TV seemed to have possibilities. The info blurb stated "programming to soothe and entertain your dog while you're away." Sounds good to me! Got to be better for Emma than Maury!
Flipped it on and it was just this weird urban scene slid show with urban sounds, like screechy tennis shoes on a basket ball court, but Emma did look into it, so I thought, what the heck! I got buried in my work that day, and when my husband got home from work, Emma was still on the Princess Chair watching Dog TV. My husband wanted to know why the dog was watching a digital fireplace on the TV. I shrugged: I don't know, but it suppose to be good for her.
That weekend we left for an entire day and left Dog TV on for Emma. The programming stated, sounds of home to comfort your dog while you're away. It was kind of a pleasant episode, the sounds of kids playing indoors, pots in the kitchen, the faucet running, etc. But I think we ruined Emma that day. Something went terribly wrong...
Ever since that day, every time Emma hears a bell on TV, game show or in a movie, she frantically runs for the front door! What the heck did Dog TV do to her while we were away? Ring doorbells all day. And how the heck did they get her trained in 6 hours when we still haven't been able to teach her a single thing in 14 years! The dog doesn't even know she is a dog!
