Each new thing I do in the process of releasing my books is something I have to learn, something I haven't done before. Just finished my first free promo and had 2800 downloads. I had great fun through the process and even made July 5th the Top 100 Free download list for Romance: USA, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany & India.
It was a challenge to get there since contemporary romance seems a bloodsport to make the top lists. I'd get down to top 392 in free kindle download and still not make a romance list. It took me 4 1/2 days to make the top 100 free romance lists worldwide and yes, I did work at it like it was the last minute of the Superbowl even though I didn't make a dime. It was the thrill of the challenge. It was the challenge of learning something new. It was just seeing if I could do it.
So during our 4th of July BBQ our friends all wanted to know: but what's the point? What does it get you? You're Free!
My new release in 5 days went world wide in downloads. There are people in Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany & India reading little ole me: Cali Girl from Santa Barbara. Isn't that cool?
Isn't that enough? Apparently not, in this practical world, because everyone kind of stared at me like Susan's making no sense these days! That's OK. I don't think that anyone expected to discover at this late stage that the world's most practical woman is actually a dreamer...
