She didn't start as my favorite. I just really liked her, but as I went through the process of completing the series for my poor messed up at times book couples, every time there was a crisis or a problem or you just needed someone to step in with clear practical thought, there was Linda. I couldn't keep her out. She was not about to let me make a total mess in her fictional universe. Linda likes happily ever after.
When I started writing Linda I saw her as a street smart, gritty, confidently sexual woman who was in all moments a fighter and never seemed to quite get what she wanted. The tough girl with the heart of gold. When I finished the books and sat back, I went "Aha". Linda got everything she wanted, exactly how she wanted it, and was so sly as she maneuvered across my pages that I didn't even see it before the all the books were complete. Not the way I intended happily ever after to be, but the way she intended it to be for her. Sometimes even the author finishes a book and is surprised. And I like Linda's version of happily ever after. A woman who followed her heart, did it her way, and said Get the fuck out of my way when anyone ever tried to stop her.
I wish you Peace.
