Ended up being the best 530 a.m. call ever. It's a mother's natural reaction to panic first, which I did, but then they were happy on the phone: I'm going to be a grandmother. My first!!! Finally. All these years. All these kids and someone pulled through. I've had a desperate urge to swipe my credit card buying small pink things for quite sometime. The new generation does things differently, so I had to be patient, not mention it, not prod, wait. Maybe this generation won't have kids until forty, so I had to contain and be silent about my desperate urge to swipe credit cards buying small pink things!
Still trying to get my head around the names they picked. Won't meddle. I'm a good mother-in-law, partly because I'm 3000 miles away. Anna [Anna Belle]works for a girl. Traditional. But baby Hugo? Really? Maybe it's modern. I don't know. The number one baby name for boys last year was Jack and if you've read my books you'll see that I do have an affection for the name Jack. Well, won't meddle on the names. So long as my daughter is well and all goes well even baby 'Hugo' is a good thing. Better than good. Wonderful!
