I never go into a room if I don't believe in what I'm going to say. I pass on the job if I don't believe in it. My books are like that too. I won't release anything that I won't put my real name on. That's the true test of how much I believe in my work. Will I put my real name on it? I understand why a lot of authors have pen names. Believe me romance novels are not necessarily a wise professional strategic fit for my day job. But for me, if I'm going to release books, it's going to be just like when I go into the room: me.
I still haven't gotten the promotion thing right, which is a little frustrated since in my former life I was successful selling really ugly sportswear and claiming it was a fashion statement because it had a dog on it.
Compiling a list of what's worked and what hasn't for a future blog update. Today's promotion effort 99cent countdown deal. At 99 cents, my work is going for 0.00000825 per word. My husband would laugh if I told him that today. He calls what I do babbling for billing. But today I'm going for .00000825 a word.
Life is crazy. Life is good. You ride the horse until it bucks you off. Then you ride it again. I am .00000825 a word today!
