Women network and work together like no other in publishing. It reminds me of my days in the garment industry; the last female dominated profession I was in. But I'm older now, and it's a bit overwhelming at times. These young female authors are extraordinary at their craft, but they are also experts at the world of social media. I feel like I've been drafted into a highly organized, strategic military campaign, and lets face it, I don't march as fast as I used to.
I only understand about half of what's in a post I read. I usually have to send out a comment that goes: dear, can you just tell me where and what. Point/do, is always a winner to help me along to successfully do something. My learning curve is just a tad slower, I am starting to get the swing of things thanks to my young gal pals, but I still feel inferior.
How could I not? They've each got a gazillion followers on twitter, more people than I've met in a lifetime liking their author pages and just as many friends on Facebook. They are on tumbler, instantgram, and jeez I can't even remember all the things. Yesterday I went out and bought stamps and cards to mail out. OK, so I'm not always perfectly modern. But what do you expect and I'm perfectly fine with my typewriter...no, just joking. It's a Commodore 386(if you're younger than 40 you won't get the joke).
Anyway, I'm part of a great giveaway with these amazing young women, and I feel fortunate that they have drafted granny panties into their ranks. So enter and celebrate CJ Wells 1000 likes. They're having a party. Why shouldn't they? Everything they do, they do well, and the books on this list are marvelous.
