Second favorite month is June in Santa Barbara. As far as I can remember it's been the month of June gloom. The fog doesn't burn off until after noon, so I'm never tempted to quit writing and head to the beach before noon. But for some reason, there is no fog this June. The fog is actually pretty cool. I live just above the fog line, and it's like a fluffy white walk way from my forest to the Islands. It almost looks like I can hike a few feet down my favorite path and walk to the islands across the clouds. Usually I can see just the top of the islands through the fog. It's truly beautiful. June gloom maybe for the city below, but magical on the foothills.
It's not like we have a lot of weather in California. It's funny how I've built my schedule around the little there is. No June gloom and I have a book to finish. What will I do? Without the fog, the dogs won't wait patiently to go to the beach. They are watching me now, ready to leave. No fog means the dogs think it's fun time!
