| I work on a lot of serious projects in my day job, but I always like to make fun of myself along the way. It's not that I'm self-deprecating, I just think everything rolls in life better if we remember to laugh and not take ourselves too seriously. Yesterday on another blog I was chatting with an author buddy of mine, K. A. Fenwolfe (Great middle grade book by the way Tiz Phoenix and the Witch's Tree (The Celestial Tree Academy Book 1) Definitely on my must read list to baby Hugo) and while we were chatting I noticed that I sold a print book. I never sell print books so of course my reaction was: the new phone book is here. I sold a print book. I'm somebody! F.A. and I had a good laugh and left our chat a little while later. Then I checked back in and there were serious comments about how to sell print books and congratulations... I shook my head. Why are so many authors so serious about everything? Life would be so much the better, people would be so much the happier, if we all lightened up and learned to embrace the humor of this journey. |
